cpuid software package provides tool to dump x86 CPUID information about the CPU(s), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cpuid
cpuid is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cpuid package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cpuid *
You will get with cpuid package name, version, architecture and description in a table
